These works are tethered to memory. They are tied to the places that speak to me of clean air, soft shoulders and days spent barefoot and well. Each one a holiday snap, a salutation or song in praise of the restorative benefit of time in nature.

I am a multidisciplinary maker living and working on Yagarabul land. My current painting practise explores my relationship to familiar retreat spaces and childhood memories of the beach. These abstract landscapes evoke a sense of spaciousness and elevated awareness of the energy held in sacred places.

State Of Flow opens August 16th 2024 at the Brisbane Institute of Art.

I am continuing to explore the possibility of making as meditation in my small sculptures. They speak to intuition and memory, a conversation with the great mystery of my devotion to presence, place and identity.

My porcelain amulets are made with the intention to remind, reveal or hold space for its owner. They speak of climbing old ladders, sun on your face, casting nets into shallow water, brittle bones and the smell of the forrest floor. Mysteries captured within the folds of fine porcelain, air, light, fire, earth and so many stories.

Functional wear should be a daily reminder of ritual, beauty and purpose.
